Thank you for stopping by to visit our new website!
My name is Nicole. I am the former owner/trainer of Hunter Ridge
Farm and now that we have started over I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our new farm, our new services
and our new programs. What has now become Dark Horse Farm was previously Hunter Ridge Farm based in Portland, TN.
Hunter Ridge offered lessons and training to humans and horses of all disciplines and levels. In August of 2003, I closed
the barn doors of Hunter Ridge and decided to take a break from training and showing.
Now in 2006, after a long break, I've decided it's time to spring back
into action with a new name, a new look and new programs!
The name for Dark Horse came from one of our programs stars 'Chrome Two
Toes', known around the barn as 'Arion' and also from the horse who gave me my start in this business 'Black Beauty'.
While Arion will now be returning to DHF after a year away and Beauty
has passed away I decided on the name Dark Horse to remember these who amazing 'dark horses' who have made such a huge difference
at our farm, in our programs and in our lives.
I am still the owner/trainer at Dark Horse Farm. At Hunter Ridge
my focus was mainly on training, showing and lessons but I have broadened my horizons to include so much more into my new
programs.
Even though I took a long break from horse showing and teaching lessons
my focus on training and truly understanding the horse never waivered. I feel that I have come back offering greater
knowledge to both my human and equine students. I now feel it's time to move beyond JUST lessons and training and start
educating others to use my training methods at home to help them connect on a physical and emotional level with their equine
partner. I now offer numerous clinics and seminars. For those of you who never visited Hunter Ridge and are not
familiar with me you can visit our Hunter Ridge page to get an idea of how Dark Horse has evolved.
For
more information on our services please browse through the site.
Now that I have introduced you to
our two favorite 'dark horses' and myself I encourage you to look around the site at the various services we offer.
Feel free to e-mail me directly with any questions, concerns, requests, etc.
Please be patient with us as the
site is still under construction. We are putting our best effort forth to have it done as quickly as possible.
Be on the look out for our DHF Blog, list of upcoming 'Dark Horse' events and our special 'Dark Horse Store'.
Thank you for visiting.
